CHOOSE TO SPEND YOUR TIME DOING WHAT YOU LOVE
‘You can spend your whole life doing what you don’t want to do, and die. Or you can spend your life doing what you do want to do, and die. The end result is the same. The question is whether or not you are going to enjoy yourself in the meantime.’ From the article ‘Do What You Are Meant To Do’ by Dan Pedersen
Today while working I turned on a few news channels (Fox News and CNN) to check in on the North Korea, Syria, world situation.
I do think its important to stay in the ‘know’, especially with the serious world issues — although it is a frustrating feeling of helplessness in most cases.
Today they were discussing Iran. One pundit said affirmatively that it’s just inevitable and a matter of time before Iran becomes another North Korea.
So everywhere we turn there is danger it seems.
Ok.That’s a reality. Life is fragile and uncertain.
So because of this I think we need to spend as much time as we can doing what we love.
At least we can attempt to spend a majority of our time on stuff that makes us feel happier.
Today I made art, pet cats, ate some decent food, got out in the sun, talked to a few good friends on the phone and kept my mind clear of ‘drama’.
So I did stay close to doing what I love today.
I have been listening to some wonderful Mindfulness YouTube videos which almost all talk about the importance of ‘living in THIS moment’ — not the past or future. It does make sense and it definitely calms the mind down.
Author Eckhard Tolle says a wonderful yet simple thing about this.
‘Dont’ expect to understand anything. Just ACCEPT everything. Be appreciative of this moment and…Be Here Now.’
I use this mantra a lot and I like it. It’s so simplistic yet so damn profound.
- Spend our time doing what we love (as often as we can)
- Be appreciative and
- BE HERE NOW.
OK THEN!! Got it? GOT IT!
